Claudio

I thought I'd take this post to talk about the character of Claudio...or his lack of character.
In my opinion, Claudio is one of the weaker characters in Much Ado About Nothing.
For instance, when Don John tells him that Don Pedro has betrayed him, Claudio believes John right away. His quick ability to believe Don John shows that Claudio doesn't have a deep sense of trust in his good friend. So, as a prediction, I think that Claudio will instantly believe that Hero is cheating on him...even though its a set-up by Don John. Hopefully by the end of the play, Claudio's character evolves to have more trust in his friends, and to be less guillible.
